SONY STYLE HOLIDAY WINDOW DISPLAYS EMPHASIZE ‘LIVING AND GIVING’
Windows Get Shoppers in the Holiday Spirit through Sights and Aromas

SAN DIEGO, Nov. 16, 2006 – Signaling the arrival of the gift-giving season, Sony Style stores nationwide will greet visitors with the sights, sounds and aromas of the holidays as they experience the shops’ elaborate holiday window displays.

Intricately constructed window vignettes feature this year’s theme “Living and Giving with Sony Style.” The stores’ exterior windows include scenes from a modern Sony house, with each room showcasing a different holiday theme and product selection of many of the must-have gifts for the season, including the Sony® Reader electronic book, Mylo  personal communicator and PlayStation®3 video game console.

The stores, which already feature an in-store fragrance with hints of mandarin and vanilla, are offering holiday-scented sachets to customers who spend more than $200 this holiday season, giving shoppers a way to enjoy the aromas of the holidays as well as the sights of the beautifully dressed windows.

The bright translucent plexi -house is complimented by a stylized animation of parts of the house including the front door and a burning fireplace. An LED message reading “Holiday Gift Giving” scrolls down the front of the house.

The New York flagship store on Madison Avenue will feature a more elaborate version of the house, including five additional windows representing the house’s library, living room, office, children’s bedroom and study.

The library window features a five-foot replica of the Sony Reader and bookshelves filled with titles that are available for download.

The living room has a whimsical conveyor belt circling the window filled with Sony products, stockings, presents and decorations.

The office window highlights shopping online with sonystyle.com.  Three 40-inch BRAVIA™ televisions show visuals of professional golfer Michelle Wie from Sony’s holiday catalog as a giant electronic red curser floats from screen to screen.

The child’s bedroom contains everything PlayStation, including appropriately themed wallpaper.

The final window gives shoppers a glimpse at a couple that cannot get enough photos of their precious pup. This pet-obsessed study features the best in Sony’s digital imaging products, from Cyber-shot® cameras to Handycam® camcorders and digital prints.

Once inside the store, shoppers can peruse a Wie holiday tree featuring photos of the golfer test-driving holiday products. The glowing tree’s decorations feature ornaments with images of Wie from the Sony Style holiday catalog and products are displayed below. Colorful graphics featuring the Living and Giving message and geometric lucite trees round out the holiday interiors.
