SONY’S LATEST STYLE IS A BRIGHTER GREEN
Advances Longtime Environmental Efforts with “SonyStyle Notebook PC Trade-In Program” and RBRC Board Nomination

SAN DIEGO, June 7th, 2006 —Sony Electronics recently launched the “SonyStyle notebook PC trade-in program” nationwide in which consumers can trade-in their old notebook PCs for component reuse and responsible disposal facilitated by a national recycling vendor, and receive Sony credit towards a new VAIO® notebook or other product purchase.

Trade-ins can be done at SonyStyle store locations (www.sonystyle.com/retail), Sony outlet stores and online at www.sonystyle.com.  Consumers can use the online estimator at sonystyle.com or see a SonyStyle store sales representative to get their estimated trade-in value before making their decision.

Additionally, the company’s longtime commitment to battery recycling was enhanced with the recent naming of Sony Electronics’ director of corporate environmental affairs, Douglas Smith to chairman of the non-profit Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation’s (RBRC) board of directors.

Consumers can recycle their used rechargeable batteries and old cell phones by visiting one of the more than 30,000 retailers as well as community solid waste centers participating in RBRC’s recycling program, Call2Recycle.  Sony Electronics, based in San Diego, has been a member of the RBRC since 1998.

More information about the notebook PC trade-in program can be found on www.sonystyle.com and details about the RBRC organization are available at www.rbrc.org.
