FORGET THE GINGKO BILOBA, SONY'S NEW DIGITAL VOICE RECORDER INCREASES MEMORY
Memory Stick Removable Media and Single Slide Control Switch Boost Functionality
PARK RIDGE, N.J., Feb. 25, 2004 - Harried executives and overloaded students take note: Sony's digital recording takes on nearly six hours of meetings and classes with the introduction of the intuitive, single-slide-control operated Memory Stick digital voice recorder, now with more than 340 minutes of recording time.
The new ICD-BM1 digital voice recorder has a clean, simple design and durable aluminum body that looks elegant and feels great in the palm of a hand. The model offers direct USB connection to a PC and is compatible with Dragon NaturallySpeaking preferred version 7.0 voice-to-print software, helping busy professionals quickly get their thoughts down on paper.
"This new voice recorder is an easy-to-use tool for anyone looking to maximize efficiency and organization," said Stephen Teplansky, senior marketing manager at Sony Electronics. "From high quality sound to advanced folder functions and one-button operation, we've included everything necessary to increase your productivity."
The new ICD-BM1 model comes with all the features necessary to organize thoughts and ideas. There are up to 340 message folders for dictation that provide separate message areas for different applications, such as business memos or personal reminders, and a voice email function to help send those memos to a colleague.
Multiple recording modes allow you to vary recording quality based on the application, while the overwrite correction function lets you rewind to a location and re-dictate from the last correct word.
The digital voice recorder also employs long-term predicted excitation coding (LPEC) and up to 44.1 kHz sampling rate in stereo recording mode, which translates into crystal clear reproduction of every shout and mumble without distortion or crackling. The digital pitch control allows those recordings to be heard at slower than normal speeds to facilitate transcribing or editing, or faster for more rapid dictation review.
The new ICD-BM1 digital voice recorder comes supplied with one 16 MB Memory Stick ® flash media card and is currently available for about $300. The model is also available as a combined bundle with Dragon NaturallySpeaking preferred version7.0 voice-to-print software for about $350.
