LOUD SEATMATES AND PESKY FAMILY MEMBERS BEWARE: SONY'S NEW HEADPHONES WILL TUNE YOU OUT

Noise Canceling Technology With Great Looks and Even Better Value

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 30, 2004 - The couple in the next aisle has been arguing since take-off, but the new Sony ® MDR-NC6 noise canceling headphones help ensure the only audible noise on the plane is coming from your portable audio player.

Combining the look of the popular DJ-series of headphones with Sony's noise canceling technology, the new MDR-NC6 headphones are a fashionable way to maximize audio entertainment.

According to Jim Leahey, general manager of peripherals and enhancements at Sony Electronics, the headphones diminish outside noise by up to 70 percent and reduce the ear fatigue associated with ambient noise in a train, plane or car while neodymium magnets deliver powerful sound for an intense listening experience.

"We live in an increasingly mobile society where the need for portable entertainment is growing by leaps and bounds," Leahey said. "Subsequently, people want to enhance their portable DVD or Walkman ® player with high quality, stylish headphones."

Weighing only 5.29 ounces, the headphones are convenient for long-distance travel or a daily commute. They have slim, swivel style earpieces that fold to fit neatly inside the supplied carry pouch and a plug adaptor enables easy connectivity to the dual jack of in-flight entertainment services.

The MDR-NC6 noise canceling headphones are now available for about $60.
