ACCESSING PHOTOS HAS NEVER BEEN EASIER WITH SONY'S IMAGESTATION ® MOBILE ACCESS SERVICE
LAS VEGAS (CES, Booth #N109), Jan. 7, 2004 - Carrying around family photos in a wallet is becoming a thing of the past with new services like Sony's ImageStation ® Mobile Access Service. The service will allow photo buffs to access and share an unlimited amount of digital images directly from their web-enabled mobile phone.
Digital images uploaded either from a camera phone or a PC can be accessed through the new service which is an extension of Sony's ImageStation online photo service (www.imagestation.com).
"We wanted to provide consumers on the run with the ability to view and share their digital images anytime, anywhere," said Bob Nell, vice president of network services for Sony Electronics eSolutions Company LLC.
The fee-based service will be compatible with most XHTML mobile profile capable phones with wireless data service and is designed to work on any unrestricted U.S. wireless carrier data networks.
Consumers will be able to sign up for ImageStation mobile access service through www.ImageStation.com. The service is expected to be available this spring at which time the price of membership will be determined.
ImageStation (www.ImageStation.com) is Sony's premier online photo service that allows consumers to upload, store and share their digital images and video clips online. Members can also order high quality photo prints in a variety of sizes and special photo gifts including coffee table books and calendars.
