SONY EXPANDS CO-BRANDED AOL PORTAL FOR VAIO PC USERS
VAIO PCs to Offer Access to AOL Video Entertainment Destination

LAS VEGAS (CES, Booth #14200), Jan. 7, 2007 ¾   Sony Electronics today announced here today an extension of an agreement to include the Sony-branded AOL.com® web portal (http://aol.com/sony) on VAIO® personal computers.

Sony consumer PCs manufactured in 2007 will include a direct link to the portal, as well as links to the AOL Video and AOL Picture websites. As a result, users will have easy access to on-demand video content, online picture sharing and storage.

VAIO consumers will have access to the AOL Video website through a desktop icon, making it easy to find, watch and share millions of free-streaming and pay-to-download video programs from across the Internet, as well as broadcast and cable television.

VAIO PCs will also include a desktop icon for the AOL Pictures online service, a digital photo service that provides consumers with free and unlimited storage of digital photos in their original resolution.  The service also makes it easy to organize, share, print and protect those favorite images.

“VAIO PCs are designed to provide consumers with a superb entertainment experience,” said Mike Abary, vice president of VAIO product marketing at Sony Electronics. “This past year we have seen an explosion of online video content and it’s a natural progression to work with companies like AOL who provide tools and services that enhance this experience.”

First launched early last year, the Sony-branded AOL.com portal is the default homepage on VAIO consumer PCs where users have access to popular Internet products and services, including AOL’s music, movie, TV and information content; the AIM® instant messaging service; and XDrive with 5GB of free secure online storage space.

“We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Sony and offer VAIO customers more features and services to enhance their online media experience,” said Kevin Conroy, AOL executive vice president.

Sony VAIO consumer PCs with the co-branded AOL.com homepage (http://aol.com/sony) and other AOL applications are available through Sony Style retail stores and directly online at www.sonystyle.com, as well as through authorized retailers nationwide. More information about AOL Video and AOL Pictures is available at http://www.aol.com/, http://video.aol.com/ or http://pictures.aol.com/.
