SONY'S NEW FLAT-PANEL PC DISPLAY HAS FOCUS ON PRECISION
Optimized for Architects, Designers and Engineers
LAS VEGAS (CES, Booth #N109), Jan. 7, 2004 - With a high resolution panel and a super-thin black bezel design, Sony has created the SDM-S204 display to facilitate high-demand engineering and desktop publishing applications.
The new 20-inch (20.0-inch viewable image size) LCD (liquid crystal display) model features a 1600 x 1200 resolution that makes images vivid and text clear on a screen that has ample space for working on more than one program at the same time. With capacity for multiple digital and analog connections, users can easily switch from one computer to another enhancing productivity while taking up less desktop space.
"The SDM-S204 is packed with features that assist, rather than distract from, getting the job done," said Jim Neal, general manager for display product marketing in Sony Electronics' IT Products Division. "With automatic image adjustments and time and space saving options, precision and speed come easily."
Even if the only desktop space available is the size of a phone, the new SDM-S204 model will fit in that area with its small footprint. (The display also has the option to be wall mounted.) Once in place, the ErgoStand design makes it easy to adjust in ergonomically friendly ways for comfortable and safe viewing angles.
To maximize brightness, the display comes with Sony's ErgoBright technology, which can be easily adjusted with no loss of contrast or color fidelity. This is especially important for color critical applications, such as those required by architects, designers and engineers.
The display's one-touch luminance adjustment makes it easy to set personal settings and also saves energy. Available in February, the S204 display will be priced at about $1199.99.
