LAS VEGAS (ISC WEST, Booth #22063), March 28, 2007 – Sony is introducing two mini-dome IPELA® cameras, and four new analog cameras at this week’s International Security Conference West show. These new cameras allow for clear image capture in high-contrast lighting settings and easy pan-and-tilt adjustment, while also featuring rugged housings to make them resistant to damage.
“This year’s lineup offers features that help end users to identify objects with exceptional image clarity in all types of conditions, from mild to severe,” said Yoshi Hirano, senior marketing manager for security products at Sony Electronics. “Our IP and analog cameras perfectly fit the need in an industry where image quality – despite external forces – and scalable, easy-to-use surveillance equipment are key to helping protect lives.”
IPELA Cameras
The new SNC-DF50N network camera model offers a DynaView™ wide dynamic range function to allow clear image capture in high-contrast lighting environments, and has Sony’s patented ball joint lens mount for easy pan and tilt adjustment.
Other features include built-in intelligent motion/object detection in conjunction with Distributed Enhanced Processing Architecture (DEPA), multi-codec capabilities supporting JPEG, MPEG-4 and H.264 compression formats to increase flexibility and optimize bandwidth usage, Power over Ethernet, voice alert functions, and secure IEEE802.1X authentication.
The SNC-DF80N model is vandal-resistant with a polycarbonate dome and aluminum die-cast housing that has a heater option for severely cold areas.
The camera also uses Sony’s SuperExwaveTM CCD technology to achieve sensitivity of 0.6lx, and has a day/night function to improve sensitivity in low-light conditions.
Its IP66 ingress protection with inner cable pipe helps prevent water from reaching the camera, and it has Power over Ethernet capability, as well as a CF card slot, for local pre/post-alarm recording.
Analog Cameras
Sony’s new SSC-CD45 and SSC-CD49 analog cameras are standard mini-domes, equipped with Sony’s patented ball joint lens mount. They have built-in 3.6x vari-focal lenses with auto-iris that adjusts to different lighting conditions.
The SSC-CD45 model uses the 1/3 type Super HAD™ CCD to achieve sensitivity 0.9lx at F1.3, and high resolution of 540 TVL for improved picture quality. It also has back light compensation for high-contrast lighting conditions.
The SSC-CD49 camera uses the 1/3 type CCD with DynaView Wide Dynamic Range technology, as well, and has high sensitivity with a minimum illumination of 0.7lx (color) at F1.3.
The SSC-CD75 and SSC-CD77 cameras are vandal-resistant, have a patented ball joint lens mount, an IP66 ingress with cable pipe for water protection, and a high resolution of 540 TVL. They also feature a heater option for cold areas.
The SSC-CD75 model has a Super HAD CCD and high sensitivity with a minimum illumination of 0.9lx. The SSC-CD77 camera uses a SuperExwave CCD to achieve sensitivity of 0.6lx (color) at F1.3. It also has a day/night function.
The SNC-DF50N and SNC-DF80N IPELA network cameras are expected to be available in April for suggested list prices of $1,050 and 1,250, respectively. The SSC-CD75, SSC-CD45, SSC-CD49, SSC-CD75 and SSC-CD77 analog cameras will also be available in April for suggested list prices of $420, $330, $460, $420 and $510, respectively.
