(Tokyo, Japan) – Sony Corporation announced that Fuji Television Network, Inc. (Fuji TV) has selected Sony’s Networked News Production System for use as the company’s new “News VTR System”.
The system Sony will supply to Fuji TV is a Networked News Production System based on “XDCAM HD” and it integrates the news production process from planning to playout. Sony will provide a total content management system that incorporates both the content server and playout systems to seamlessly manage program information.
This news production system is based on Fuji TV’s “File Based Workflow” concept. Sony’s Networked News Production System, which is based on the MPEG HD422 codec (50Mb/s・MPEG-2 422P@HL/ MXF-OP1a) used in its “XDCAM HD422” series, is a networked server system enabling file-based operation from planning, acquisition and editing to playout.
