Rintaro Miyoshi is executive vice president and chief financial officer for Sony Electronics.
In this position, he is responsible for Finance, Control and Planning, as well as corporate projects for the company's U.S. electronics business. Miyoshi has fostered a transparent and global culture in SEL and has been a driving force by cultivating new business opportunities continuously and increase sales amounts, especially through joint acqtivities with the content groups. His commitments also include maximizing U.S. profits by strengthening U.S.-based businesses and maintaining a fair profit balance on imported products.
In his nearly 25 years of service to Sony, Miyoshi has held many positions in Japan, including senior vice president of Corporate Planning and Control at Global Hub, senior general manager of Corporate Planning for Mobile Network Company and general manager of Planning and Control for PNC and IT company, where he launched VAIO business as one of the key members. He also had three years of experience from 1985 as an accountant at Sony WEGA Produktions G.m.b.H. in Stuttgart, Germany.
Miyoshi earned his B.A. in economics from Keio University in 1981.
