Mike Abary serves as senior vice president of Sony’s Information Technology Products Division.
In this role, Abary is responsible for leading the business and brand strategies in the U.S. market for VAIO computers, the Sony Reader, LocationFree technology, mylo personal communicators and branded optical disc storage products.
Abary joined Sony in 2000 to support the growth of the VAIO notebook business, which has since nearly doubled in revenue in the United States. He has served in various capacities within Sony's IT Products division, including product management, demand planning and business operations, gaining increased authority and leadership with each successive position.
Prior to joining Sony, Abary spent seven years in a range of sales and product management roles at Synnex Information Technologies, a national commercial IT distributor and manufacturer. There he was responsible for the management of marketing, manufacturing and sustaining the company’s portable PC, desktop PC, server and private label businesses.
Abary earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from California State University, Hayward.
