John Scarcella is the president of the Broadcast and Business Solutions Company where he is responsible for sales and marketing for SELs professional products, systems and services supporting the Broadcast and Production Systems Division, Business Solutions Division and B2B AV/IT Sales Company. These divisions include Solutions Engineering, Digital Photography, Medical Systems, Visual Communications and Business-to-Business. He is a member of SELs Executive Committee.
Prior to this, he was president of the Broadcast and Production Systems Division, where he was responsible for day-to-day business operations with a mission of securing Sonys number one position in the content creation and professional display business. His responsibilities included chairing the B2B Business Council, which supplied business-to-business customers with a wide range of AV/IT solutions and services to serve the broadcast, post-production, corporate, reseller, government and education markets. In addition to his leadership of BPSD, he was also the president of the Broadcast Solutions Division.
Previously, Scarcella was senior vice president of the Consumer Sales Company, Eastern Zone, where he was responsible for all sales related activities for zone-based national accounts (Circuit City), strategic growth accounts, regional accounts and audio video specialist accounts. He had sales responsibility for $2.8 billion.
Prior to that, Scarcella was senior vice president of the Broadcast Solutions and Systems Company where he was responsible for sales, marketing, systems and service for SELs broadcast and professional products.
Since joining Sony in 1985, Scarcella held several positions including senior vice president of the Broadcast and Professional Companys Content and Creation Division, senior vice president of the BPCs Display Systems and New Business Division, vice president of BPCs National Account Organization and president of Sony Cinema Products Corporation. His earlier responsibilities also included serving as vice president of Corporate and Government Sales Channel, vice president of Display Marketing Division and vice president of Corporate Strategic Planning.
Among Scarcellas accomplishments at Sony was his pivotal role in launching the Sony JumboTron as the de facto standard for large screen displays. Scarcella was also the first recipient of the Shogun award, which recognizes a select member of sales management who performed exceptionally throughout the fiscal year by developing a cohesive team with a common vision and by elevating Sony to a new level of excellence.
Scarcella received his bachelors degree from Providence College and his MBA from Iona College.
