
Randy Waynick assumed the role of senior vice president of Sony Electronics Home Products Division in August 2005. He is responsible for directing the marketing of Sonys TV, home audio/video, and IT displays business, spearheading business and product development/planning and retail communications for HPD, with specific focus on HDTV, set-top boxes and recordable DVD players, IT Displays as well as the commercialization of Blue-ray hardware.
Previously, Randy Waynick served as senior vice president of sales with primary responsibility for the Best Buy relationship. In this role he oversaw the strategic planning, sales, advertising, supply chain and general P/L for Sony. Prior experiences within Sony include all levels of sales, vice president of New Business Planning and CPFR project Lead.
Waynick joined Sony in 1985 and has been assigned to various locations and positions throughout the United States. He is two-time recipient of the Samurai award as well as numerous other top performers awards and recognitions. He is a member of the Sales Executive Council and the Conference Board.
He has received numerous degrees including a Ph.D. in organization and management. His research explored Increasing In-Store Share via Customer Service Techniques and Impact of the Internet on the Selling Function and Role. Waynick has participated in executive education at University of Michigan, Notre Dame, Harvard and The Center for Creative Learning. He is an active professor at two universities teaching marketing, management, e-business, multinational marketing and motivating IT Professional.
